It is one of the world’s greatest opera theatres. Every summer, the Verona Arena- a Roman amphitheatre- holds a famous opera festival with the greatest opera performers. At the same time as EMAC, the calendar is completed by extraordinary concerts and the performances. On 3rd and 7th September, the historical edition of Aida, directed by Gianfranco de Bosio, inspired by Ettore Fagiuoli’s first exhibition of 1913. Aida went on stage around 670 times and has now become the symbol of the Arena. On 4th September, Carmen returns: a masterpiece by Georges Bizet in the setting up of the famous Argentinian director Hugo de Ana, who directs directing, sets and costumes. On 5th September, instead, The Traviata will be on stage. On 6th, not to be missed, Tosca by Giacomo Puccini, in the spectacular setting of 2006 by Hugo de Ana, who directed scenes, costumes and lights.
